Fire Investigator |
Tuition: $750 This includes online course access and TCFP state skills testing. Book will be provided to student via mail.
At Texas Fire Academy, we offer a complete 200-hour Fire Investigator course that is available to you online. This Fire Investigator training program covers all the necessary curriculum requirements of the TCFP and NFPA 1033. This Fire Investigator course also requires a one-day practical training exercise/skills review AND a one-day skills session at our Fire Academy Training site in San Marcos, Texas.
Our Fire Investigator training program goes beyond the traditional online course and utilizes burn pods to mimic “real-life” fire scenes. The burn cells are fully furnished, which allow students the opportunity to assess fire behavior and its effects within a structure. The students are then able to gain hands-on experience with investigating the fire and determining the fire’s origin and cause. Our Fire Investigator training course is instructed by former and current Fire/Arson Investigators in the field.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to take the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Fire Investigator test. This course is approved by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. This course requires both the one-day skills review and one-day skills session. If you have any questions about this course or any of the other courses we offer here at Texas Fire Academy, please contact us at 512-749-1200. |

You will be required to attend in person on the last two days of class at the specified academy testing location for TCFP skills testing and the course final exam at 8 am. In most cases, the testing location will be at Station 13, 3300 Hilliard Road, San Marcos, Texas. The length of the final day is dependent on class size and other factors. Please plan for at least eight hours.
Failing the course, final exam, or not attending the final exam/skills day will result in you having to pay the full tuition to attend the next available course. We no longer allow students to sit in on the next course or roll over to the next skills day as it had been allowed before. You must complete all coursework and skills associated to the course that you originally register for. If you are unable to attend any portion of the original course, you must contact Texas Fire Academy admissions to change the course. |
